Y Naka the Jap with abundant creditors has been released. Creditors met to divide Naka's assets. he promised to work to liquidate remaining debts next season. Judge Pressly paid about 776 from the sugar factory attached funds. Horses and beets netted about 300, distributed pro rata. Other creditors include W H Atkins Ahistrand Mercantile Co W A McCave and J C Mathers.
The Weld County Farmers' association committee to attend Collins meeting for arranging a beet labor plan includes N. D. Bartholomew of Lucerne J. B. Cozzins near Greeley and J. M. Collins near a ton. They will recommend paying by the ton for pulling and topping rather than by the acre.
The Eaton school board approved plans for a new 25 000 dollar high school building designed by Redding of Boulder. It will be the region's only high school with a large symposium suitable for basketball, featuring laboratories on the third floor and separate lunch rooms for boys and girls in the basement. The gym will align with the basement floor and a gym gallery will rise on the second floor. The site uses a gift lot from Bruce G Eaton and leaves space for an athletic field.
In district court Attorney Nixon filed an equity action to correct a deed description misplacing a graveyard on Mary J. Good property. The error arose when two words were omitted from the west quarter, swapping the land intended for cemetery with Mrs Good s land. No trials, costs rise without proper legal drafting.
A letter from Denver dated January 12 1909 to the editor of the Greeley Tribune denies rumors that the Colorado and Southern railroad bought the Depot Cafe property. The writer says no sale is planned, plans improvements after the lease expires, and will personally oversee operations to provide a top eating house for residents and travelers.
Olive Camp No. 4487 R. N. A. installed officers last night at the Gill home. Executives installed include Valne Lehr Oracle Rose Gibson Vice Oracle Past Oracle Etta Foulke chancellor Pearl Rowe recorder Christie Poe receiver Ora Stevens marshal Sarah Harris and managers F J Stoner and Cora Mackley physician Or A Anderson.
A stockholders meeting at Farmers National Bank of Ault reelected directors August Molander Henry Mead D K Wyatt Henry Thomp son Jacob Hasbrouck Ray Gale and W C Wyatt. Officers named were Jacob Hasbrouck president August Molander vice president and Ray Gale cashier.
On Tuesday January 12 Mr and Mrs W H Edwards marked ten years of marriage with a small gathering at their home. Gentlemen described their wives wedding dresses in amusing fashion read aloud by the hosts wives. A tin themed repast followed with guests including B F Johnson W H Gm Ralph King B G Eaton Mrs T C Williams and Ethel Lovell.
In the Eaton area feeders are selling sheep for around one dollar per head as the market holds steady. Last fall 1453 carloads were shipped into Eaton country, about 20 percent more than the previous season, making Eaton the only Northern Colorado section where winter feeding surpasses last year. Fort Collins sees fewer feeders and Weld County points drop below normal.
At the stockholders meeting in Baton, the old board of directors was reelected: A. Adams, A. J. Baton, A. F. Baton, T. H. Wilson, J. D. Wilson, W. R. Clark and F. L. Weller. In a directors meeting afterward, the old officers were reappointed and F. L. Weller was given a leave of absence.
Locals from Eaton report a daughter born Tuesday January 12 to Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Stockfleth. Wm. Krause plans to depart today for Weiser Idaho with Mrs. Krause possibly staying longer with her mother Mrs. J Jones. Miss Hilma Anderson went to Denver Tuesday afternoon for an appendectomy, accompanied by her father and her physician.
A public reception at Central Business college Friday evening January 15 celebrates the purchase of Greeley Business college by the Central circuit. Dr Snyder from the Normal school will give an address. Miss Hamel will read Hiawatha with music by Miss Hunter. Teachers will attend the institute Saturday January 16. The public is invited.

A Tuesday evening party at Mr. and Mrs. J M Cameron welcomed about twenty guests. Trudy and Misses Laura and Deta hosted in honor of Herman and Charles Neptunne of Boulder. The evening featured games and late refreshments served by the hostesses.
The Arts Crafts club at the State Normal held its semi annual election Friday morning choosing Miss Alice Jones for president Ethel Joel for secretary and Mr Stifler for treasurer to serve the rest of the school year.

The Social Science Circle gathered Tuesday at Rev. and Mrs. Forward's home with Rev. Forward presenting on pure milk and the risks of contamination by tubercular and typhoid germs. He highlighted efforts by Mr. Strauss and Mr. Babcock in the east that have measurably reduced child mortality. Refreshments followed as Mr. W. L. Clayton and guest Miss Miles attended.
Hart the man who filed seventy two mortgages on Chalk Bluff land last week is about to seal a sale with a Nebraska banker for the entire tract. The property covers every alternate section in two townships formerly owned by Union Pacific and once mortgaged to pay the railroad. Some parcels are described as prime dry farms valued up to $15 per acre, with arable land and no bluffs on the property though water may be scarce.
Mrs Chappelow was given a happy surprise at her home by Baptist church ladies to celebrate her birthday. A dainty lunch followed as friends praised her work and presented a beautiful gift. Her planned departure to the west brought regret among many friends.
The Denver real estate exchange hosted a banquet at the Camfield last evening with a menu rivaling the Brown Palace. Following the meal, the regular monthly meeting convened in the Commercial club rooms, marking a popular event for the association.
W H McCall of Windsor sues Frank J Smith and bondsmen F F Colburn A A Moody in district court seeking about 500 dollars for damages from an attachment on McCall's bank account. Smith previously won a $200 note suit but attachment was voided. McCall claims credit harm and trial costs.
Perry won default judgment against renter Heffelfinger on Perry's farm eight miles north of Windsor. Sheriff moved to seize property but Heffelfinger resisted, forcing deputies to jail him. Perry reportedly secured a Fort Collins house for the family as the judgment would strip most possessions while leaving wife and seven children.
The Home Electric Light Company elected W. L. Clayton as president, George M. Houston as vice president, F. L. Abbott as secretary and treasurer. The officers join W. B. Cronkhite, H. A. Russell and Eugene Williams on the board of directors. A second meeting late this week will form a new company to take over holdings and expand capital stock for future proposals.
Last evening the city council held a brief session lasting under an hour. The meeting mostly covered routine business including petitions to cut cottonwoods and a report on sewer construction with concrete pipe. Spanish war veterans may share basement space with the G A R if arrangements are made.
Greeley Camp No 6 of the W O W schedules socials for January February and March. Each month’s final gathering invites wives and sweethearts. A committee will provide entertainment and the judge will work to promote fraternity among members and friends.
