Mrs. L W Kimball returns from Greeley while Terry Vincent’s typhoid son shows recovery. Wheat and alfalfa yields discussed with price impact. Local visits span Frank Massachusetts to Omaha and Boston. Excursions to Bellevue, civic notes on politics and church talks, and Modjeska at Jackson’s Opera House signal a busy period in Greeley.
The Weld County Sunday School Association was formed in Greeley on August 17 1886 with Wallace as moderator and Michael as secretary. A committee Wallace Reid and Michael will draft the convention program for a late October meeting in Greeley. The Greeley superintendents’ committee will arrange the convention with further notices to follow. Also a testimonial for Ely's Cream Balm is included.
The Board of Trade met at the Court House with J M Wallace presiding. Treasurer Southard reported 677 dollars receipts and 58750.87 disbursements with 165.63 on hand. J M Freeman resigned as statistics chair, Rev J B Cooke named successor. An executive committee was formed with power to act and report to the Board. A Normal school for Greeley was proposed and referred to the school committee. Bills were paid and the meeting adjourned. Red Ridinghood's Rescue at Jackson's Opera House announced for September 3 with 35 cent admission.
