Miss Adams Hosts Heart Party With Linen Shower
About 45 intimate friends attended as the guest of honor Miss Adams was seated under a large white bell archway. Ribbons were pulled and a shower of linen fell on her. Red hearts and white bells decorated both parlors and the dining room. Mountain kinnikinick hung about as part of the decor. Dainty refreshments were served in the afternoon.

Death of Miss Helen M Irwin Sent to Westminster
Miss Helen M Irwin sister of P H Irwin, died Monday afternoon at the Oasis hotel from bowels strangulation due to appendicitis. After services in the Catholic church she was shipped to Westminster with her parents and siblings. The Irwin family included Mrs Cunningham and Mrs Jefferies among others. P H Irwin Jr. is manager of the Independent Telephone company.

Water May Come For Greenley With Mountain Supply
The Greenley city council considers purchasing a mountain water supply offered at a reasonable rate. A plan proposes reservoirs and lakes to serve the city and allow resale to recoup costs. Mayor Watson and Aldermen Rugh and Thompson may visit the site, possibly with a water expert. Other council actions include petitions on cottonwood cutting, hay scales, a foot bridge, fair cooperation, and peddler licensing. A fight among threshers led to a stabbing injury to Smith. John Youngman, a Rus sia native, was brought in by Sheriff Elliott from John Griffin's farm near Highlands Lake after a Monday night cutting injury to Charles Smith, a fellow EE Oviatt threshing crew worker. Youngman had retired for the night wrapped in a blanket.

Lightning hits barn near Greeley destroys house and hay
During a Tuesday thunder storm the barn of John Cornell northeast of Greeley was struck by lightning and burned completely. About 50 tons of hay were destroyed with an estimated loss around 3500 dollars. The same storm felled a large cottonwood tree at the park’s northeast corner.
