Simple burn remedy from Dr Waters gains notice

At a Massachusetts Dental Society meeting Dr G F Waters of Salem demonstrated a burn treatment using ordinary baking soda followed by a wet cloth. He poured boiling water on his wrist to test the method, and said pain ceased almost immediately with rapid healing and no scarring for non-severe burns.

Jennie Colling's Boslin's Bower in Boston reports 1 106 job applications in a year with 630 women employed and 7 060 dinners served during winter at 771 dollars. Many applicants are wives of merchants clergy and doctors.
