Greeley Elementary Exhibit Shines At Long Meeting
At the Longmont gathering the Greeley schools wowed attendees with standout manual arts displays by fourth through eighth grades. Notable pieces included ratiia hats, weather vanes, windmills, hygroscope, carved blotters, and especially the library table by Fred Center along with the four foot medal yacht by Jerome Bunker and John Shrewsbury. Longmont and Boulder also showed strong bench work while Raymond White and Ross Stephens of Longmont presented perfect furniture.

Antero Reservoir Contract Awarded to Empire Construction
The Antero reservoir project is let to The Empire Construction Company of this city with D. A. Camfield as principal stockholder. Completion set for November 1. The Antero dam will be 4,000 feet long and 46 feet high, creating 2.2 billion cubic feet of storage on the upper South Platte in South Park.

Cow on Parfit farm eyed to break butter record
Denver visitor J. J. Armstrong says Financial Countess a Jersey cow near Golden will produce about 1000 pounds of butter this year, exceeding the prior record just over 900 pounds. The cow, on the Parfit farm, is from the Clear Creek valley between Denver and Golden.

Greeley men led by Profs W. G. Chambers A F Carter R W Bullock J H Hayes and W K Stiffey moved ahead on a lake and park project. They bought land between Eighteenth and Twentieth streets and Fourteenth and Seventeenth avenues to form Home Park with a dam lake drive and two smaller lakes. Homes will face the first lake and lots of at least one acre will be sold.

Darnell and Youth Clash Leads to Arrests and Fines
Red Darne and a young Italian or Greek boy named Jim Queratara clashed with a club and a gun near the East Side livery barn last Thursday. Darnell reportedly knocked the boy down with a cane, the boy fired twice, and Darnell dropped as if killed before standing and walking away unharmed. The boy was fined in police court for carrying concealed weapons, while Larnell ended up in county jail on assault charges.

Democratic Convention Dates Set for County and State Meetings
The Democratic county convention to pick delegates to the state and congressional conventions will be held Saturday June 6. Primaries are scheduled for the evening of Saturday May 30. The state convention will convene at Glenwood Springs on June 16. The site for the congressional convention is yet to be decided.
