The Story of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's First Trials
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad history recalls the 1827 founding meeting of Baltimore investors, the charter scene, and the first steam locomotive experiments led by Peter Cooper. It traces early finances, car and engine developments, notable figures like Thomas Winans and Baron Krudener, and the growth to a vast system under presidents Garrett and successors.
