Townsend Club No 5 Meeting in Greeley
The Townsend Club No 5 met at the electric lounge with 35 attendees including Trembiers and guests from clubs 1 and beyond. Richard Scho reported on the district council session at Long mot Sept 18 and announced the next gathering Oct 14 at Jaland Grove shelter house. A Halloween party is planned Oct 30 at the shelter house, with Edirk Greenwood arranging programs and readings by Scholfield and Mrs Green. Daughters of the American Revolution held their first regular meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. E. B. Repp. Ralph E. Waldo Jr. spoke on The Constitution and What It Means Today. He noted the docu ment’s enduring function for 48 states and territories and urged ongoing vigilance to preserve freedom. Nine-year-old Allen Smith entertained with accordion music. Next meeting is October 16 at Mrs. Ernest Florio’s home.

Mrs Gene Carter of Great Pocahontas of Colorado attended the Hiawatha No 34 council in Greeley Tuesday at the KP hall. About 95 Redmen and Pocahontas from Denver and Idaho Springs joined, with honors to Mrs Raymond Lee and Miss Barbara Stephens among participants. A varied program included Betsy Ross portrayal, songs, poems, pantomime, and Hawaiian selections. next meeting slated at KP hall to honor chiefs.

WTK Opens Year With First Meeting at Delbridge Home
The WTK club began its 1956 57 year with a Wednesday gathering at Miss Lucy Delbridge’s home. President Mrs. Albert C. Clough presided as tributes were paid to Mrs. E W Knowles and Mrs. W R Kelly. A brief summary praised The American Treasury edited by Clifton Fadiman, highlighting its collection of quotes from 1,300 Americans and its aim to rekindle quotation. Tea was served by chairwoman Mrs. Glen C. Turner with assistance from Mesdames Arno Luker and Howard A. Lang. Luker will host next meeting October 3 at 172 L Twenty-second Avenue.

Junior Red Cross Council Meeting Held
Thirty two members attended the last Weld County Junior Red Cross Council meeting of the school year. In Greeley Red Cross rooms Mrs Cold Taylor urged Karen Dickey to act as president and Sue Kohler as secretary. Dickey read the year’s commitments and volunteers were assigned. Schools Greeley High Johnstown High and Heath Junior High will craft school chests for overseas shipment with past chests sent to Korea and Pakistan. Greeley High will host the Oct 15 meeting. Carnell of Geers to be elected. A bell once used by Saint Patrick is now in the Irish National Museum.
