Greeley Seeks Pay for Back Water Bills

Greeley aims to collect about 11000 in overdue water charges owed by 125 flat-rate and 50 metered customers. City officials say notices were mailed August 20 and 24 with a September 15 deadline, or water will be shut off except for drinking and limited toilet use. About 7000 is from flat-rate accounts and 4000 from metered users, with progress improving as customers pay or arrange plans. Two two-man crews are working to recover the rest, targeting full collection by next January.

Courts Sentences Range For Six Defendants In Greeley

In a Greeley district court session Judge Dynald sentenced Armando Todriquez to three to eight years for passing a $64 check at Stockman’s Inn. Clarence Van Gosen drew two to five years for a confidence game, while Joseph Crousure received five to 10 years for forgery. Edward Yerrell was sent to the state reformatory on burglary and larceny charges. Harry Bennett Jr. received a year of probation on involuntary manslaughter charges. Two Eaton brothers’ assault case was set for Nov. 7. M S White and Ruben Costello faced trial settings on indecent liberties and forcible rape respectively for Sept and Sept 10 incidents.
