County Teachers Hold 28th Annual Session October
TheFld County Teachers will convene their 28th annual session at the high school on October 12. Jessie D Page presides with H W Curtis and Bertha man as officers. A full program includes morning and afternoon sessions, round table discussions, and a noon business hour. Topics cover schooling factors in rural and modern education, reading for youth, and schools of today versus thirty years ago. Fireman Narrowly Escapes Death In Weld Freight Wreck
Keenesburg on September 18 a defective rail caused a freight wreck. Fireman Matson, aboard a dead engine bound east for repairs, leaped to safety as the lead engine toppled after starting to derail. Six coal cars and the two locomotives left the track, delaying traffic for hours.
