A weekend of fatal traffic crashes in Colorado left nine dead across the state and three in Weld County. Victims include Eather Ward of Denver and Edgar Page of Cripple Creek, with investigations noting a head-on collision on US 88 near Nunn.
Dan Ray of 921 Fourth Avenue Greeleys was jailed after a police arrest for reckless driving following a crash at 7 28 p m Sunday. His car struck Thal Jonu’s at 213 Third Avenue Armington turf, causing $89 damage. Ray attempted a soft turn to take the sight Lot way. A vehicle driven by Jude Shurwood of Aiwon left the graveled road a mile east of Finn Grove cemetery at 1 30 a m Sunday to jump a ditch, with minor damages. Sheriff’s office levied $5 and costs for failing to stop at a scene. Court date set for Felatid Johnstown.
O H Metzger formerly of Colorado college, now a Kern County official, inspected the seed potato supply. He noted concerns over supply levels and highlighted a public interest in potato seed stocks amid rising demand and local concerns.
In Rockport a Sunday crash is shown with a Cheyenne bound mortuary conveyance carrying Robert Stratton and Bernice MecBride, killed instantly. Leonard W. Rogers, a fourth passenger, later died. Lynn Johnson 45 eldest son of F W Johnson of Greeley died Sunday evening at 6:90 following an illness while with Brant Investment Co of Sakerfield since spring 1324. Survivors include Ila wife Diadt Kennedy Johnson, daughter Dar bata Lynn, 13, father 1B W Johnson, two brothers William Roy Johnson of Workington DC and Coll Johnson New York City, Mrs Norly Shuumans of Cran Joy and Ara Ted Quinn of Quinta Nebr.
Herman Crist was reelected chairman of the county Republican Party at a Saturday session in Fort Lupton. The vote by the county central committee favored Crist over Mon Carpenter, with Carpenter and the Young Republican slate signaling ongoing party unity.
