President Roosevelt warned Germany against attempting to seize British or French holdings in the Western Hemisphere. He indicated a forthcoming special session of Congress to revise the neutrality act and restated the Monroe Doctrine as applicable to all of the Americas, including Canada and other European possessions. Castaneda, 19, of Twin Bridges, will face a federal grand jury in Denver on marijuana charges after arrest by the sheriff’s office.
Civil authorities in Shanghai shift to deportation of Japanese nationals deemed injurious to Japanese interests as about 1000 interpreters or diplomats have been arriving weekly for months. G G Simmonds of Platteville driving a northbound coupe stopped to avoid the animal and was rear ended by a ble truck driven by C N Tucker of Rapid City S D. The vegetable laden truck overturned blocking traffic for five hours while house moving gear was brought to move the machine. No serious injuries reported. In the House of Lords Foreign Secretary Lord Halifax warned Germany that if it continues civilian bombing Britain will respond fully and may doom its aims. A German army command statement about Poland and a U.S. Embassy telegram from Warsaw describe German air attacks targeting civilians and the use of bombs on towns and markets.

Greeley council voted to approve a combined WPA application totaling 246,276 dollars for seven units including water mains, streets and sanitary sewers. City funds 123,019 dollars and federal funds 133,227 dollars. This marks the first time all WPA jobs are under one project.
