Denver AP report outlines principal races in Colorado primaries with incumbents facing party nominees for governor lieutenant governor attorney general and congressional seats. Key figures include John A. Love and J. W. Metzger among others in a wide field across ten counties and major districts.
About 10,000 Weld County residents are expected to vote in Tuesday's primary. Polls open 7 am to 7 pm. The vote centers on a three way Democratic contest for Congress Second District featuring McBride, Shafroth and Adcock. Republican race also features multiple names for governor, attorney general, and other offices. Absentee ballots show small turnout. this marks Weld's first use of voting machines.

Washington AP The Armed Services Committee unanimously approved a resolution to authorize the president to call up to 150000 reservists on short notice if international crises worsen. Secretary McNamara urged quick bipartisan backing, noting the authority would be crucial if crises arise while Congress is not in session.
In Weld County a joint election bureau will operate Tuesday night in the Tribune newsroom with KPKA and KYOU to tabulate primary results. Judges across precincts were asked to call 3520211. Early results from machines are expected to be rapid, with broadcasts and a tabular summary to appear in Wednesday morning editions.
