Girl leaps from yacht into lake during harbor cruise

In Sept 6 incident off Felmont yacht harbor Cleveland resident Alyss Moore, 24, joined a party aboard a 40 foot cruiser, stripped aboard, and leaped into the lake shouting she was tired of life. The group on the Pal Fortino party, hosted by Guedelach and others, reported the event to authorities. Moore disappeared after diving from the dock amid a nighttime cruise from the World's Fair area.

Arthur Leaver Dies at Greeley Home After 60 Years State Resident

Arthur Leaver, 72, a long time resident of Greeley, died at his home following heart trouble. Born December 23, 1880 in Broadbrook, he married Martha Riley and was a member of Trinity Episcopal church. Survived by wife Martha, son Athon B, daughter Virginia, two sisters, and a brother, with services at Trinity Episcopal and burial at Linn Grove.

Post Office Payless Furloughs Suspended

Breeley workers earning about 6200 monthly face furlough suspensions due to a Washington ruling. The three month past period will end in the last quarter, starting September. For the second quarter a nine day furlough was required monthly, combined with a 46 cent weekly wage cut, totaling about 26 percent. The revival of furloughs ends the wage cut, yielding a 2 to 10 percent increase over July September pay.
