Sterling R Brush Dies at Fitzsimons at Noon
Sterling R Brush 99 , proprietor of Gresley Auto Trimming and Greeley pioneer, died at Fitzsimons hospital Denver just before noon Saturday after a goiter operation. Born June 11 1890 in Gresley, he served in World War I aviation, later active in Park Congregational church and local groups. Survived by widow Ora Dru, adopted son, a brother and three sisters, and several half siblings.

Thompson Wins Assault Suit in Police Court
Thompson, of Graoley, won an assault case in police court after Fred Frazier failed to show Thompson was intoxicated. Frazier had claimed Thompson drove recklessly and struck him. Thompson countered with a countercharge of assault. The court dismissed Thompson’s charge and fined others for traffic violations, including Alfred Hume $3.60, Arthur Leaver $6.60, John Batter $6.50, C J Brown $3.40, J. Newrolt and A. Baca $0 each for stop-sign and related offenses.

Eaton Sept 6 total enrollment for Eaton High School reached 527 after Thursday registration. One hundred twenty-three registered in elementary and 60 in Junior High. Grade by grade figures show first grade 56 second 56 third 67 fourth 60 fifth 46 sixth 51. Overall enrollment is eight below last year with Junior High one over and High School three under. Senior class remains the largest with 50 students.

New Weld Bridge Opens for Travel September 17
A new county bridge on State Highway west of Fort Lupton over the Platte River is set to open for travel around September 17. Harley Warren, district supervisor, announced the completion is awaiting cement setting. The structure cost about $7,000 to construct.

Fire Department Responds To Two Minor Alarms
Fire crews answered two calls Saturday both minor with no serious blazes. At 11 15 a gasoline rag sparked a small fire at Weld County Credit Men's Association 720 Tenth Street with little or no damage. The second alarm at 12 40 reported smoke from a residence at 1465 Tenth Street Don Watson home but no fire. Minor fender bender involving W H Thorp Evans and A Hoyt 1608 Ninth Avenue caused slight damage and no injuries.
