Man Arrested On Weld County Warrant For Stolen Car
Returned from New Mexico, Armijo was brought to the county jail from Albuquerque after being arrested on a Weld County warrant for a 1928 Chevrolet stolen in a cross state case. The car had been driven by McRory Motor Company of Raton and West Industrial Bank of Greeley held the mortgage. Armijo allegedly threatened to return to the Baton district for the beef harvest.

The kidnappers demanded fifteen thousand dollars by midnight Saturday or the wife would not be returned. A ransom plan was set to be left at a trusted loading station three miles northeast of the ranch while National Guard units were requested to assist in the search.
