The Ladies' Aid society of the Christian church held a Monday evening social in the basement of the new church building. Refreshments included ice cream cake sandwiches and coffee and a nice sum was realized for the church fund.
Agnes Carter, once a Kansas City resident and later a waiter in Denver and Pueblo, plans to file final proof on a homestead claim. She has saved money to cover her needs until government requirements are met and aims to support a future husband or caretaker for her property.
Miss Agnes Carter visited the district clerk on Wednesday morning asking about terms to settle a homestead claim and information on land still open. She spoke with Elbert English and referenced what she had read about homestead laws.
