Main issues are agriculture energy and economy with Johnson touting wilderness and committee work as Ogden urges emergency farm price support amid drought. Snyder shifts Carter Ford odds after new polls showing a tight race at the national level.
Weld council members critique a 160,100 county wide law enforcement communications budget and a 602,700 shared computer center cost. They question no offsetting savings from computerization, high building-grounds costs, and 54,000 for security guards. They reject the general fund tax level but offer to reconsider if reductions are made.
