A county tramp escaped shackles after seizing a leg chain and fleeing at dusk. Deputy Peterson tracked him by train to Lucerne and Eaton, where the fugitive hid in a ditch before being recaptured and returned to bread and water punishment.
Mary Gallagher was granted divorce this morning by Judge Pradfield in the county court from her husband J. W. Gallagher. The grounds were drunkenness and cruelty, and the case went by default as the defendant did not appear.
Elsenberser, injured when run down and trampled by a bull, settled with cattle owner Beck for $10. He left town on the next train, and the two surviving animals were injured and likely to be killed.
Miss Bernice Kldredee and Harvey hosted a jolly Halloween party at their ranch home in the La Grange district Friday night. Jack lanterns and Halloween games highlighted the festivities. Ralph English won the first prize in the guessing contest and Bryan Decker won the booby prize. Twenty one attendees helped you finish a fine supper.
Ex officer James Mc Gregor appeared before Justice Hatch for a preliminary hearing on the shooting of Frank Tuck. He waived examination and pleaded accident seeking an open district court trial. Bonds set at 5000 dollars after Mc Gregor posted them. He has worked in harvest fields and now construction on the northwest sewer.
Parr and Igo finally move 6000 lambs to feeding pens after costly state inspections. 3000 lambs were delayed in Denver four days despite no issue, being dipped at great expense. The sweep disease fear proved a myth, with sheepmen suspecting dippers and inspectors collusion.

Two men charged with drunkenness appeared before Magistrate Davis. One, naming himself Frank Donnelly, pled guilty and received seven days in jail for lack of $10 to liquidate the offense. The other, who called himself T. B. Clason, expected to prove his sobriety in the afternoon session.

Mrs. Marcia Mosher, a pioneer of Greeley since 1873, died at her son J. C. Mosher’s home. Born in Danesville New York eighty six years ago, she is survived by her son and daughter Mrs Mary McNinch. Funeral services will be at the Mosher home at 2 30 this Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev T C Brockway and Rev M R Kerr.
A well attended dance at Heffernan hall Friday night in Kersey provided an enjoyable evening. Supper was served by members of the Ladies' League, per the Daily Tribune report from Oct 30.
The Weld county teachers association holds its 27th annual session at the high school assembly room on Friday November 19. Teachers directors and patrons are invited. Sessions start at 9 30 a m and 2 p m with a program including devotional exercises discussions on public schools and the education from a functional viewpoint.
The Normal senior class hosted a Halloween party for juniors on Friday. Four entertainment sections held at different times to curb crowds. Activities included a mock trial in the chapel, dancing in the gym, a barn room with leaves for decor, witch fortune booths, and pumpkin pie refreshments for over 600 students.
Mrs Margaret Douglass formerly Miss Margaret Van Horne sister of George Van Horne ex district attorney is well known in Greeley where she attended the Normal school. She died Thursday of typhoid fever after about two weeks illness. Her husband formerly owned a large farm in the Timnath district.
Secretary March of the county fair association traveled to Fort Collins to report on the recent fair to the state board of agriculture. The legislature had appropriated 50000 statewide for premiums to counties. Weld County is entitled to about 1500, or one half of the premiums paid, aiding the next exhibition.
