Neighbors aided by a calm Delta day fought a haystack fire started by boys at the Foley ranch for four hours. A crowd of about fifty formed a bucket brigade, hay was hauled away, and two or more tons of hay were saved though the second and third cuts burned. Loss limited to about $200 with a haystack four feet from the blaze saved.
