Homesteader Jack Johnson Beaten and Robbed Near Ault
Ault reports an aged homesteader, Jack Johnson, beaten and robbed of 26 dollars by three men while spud season work. Johnson identified Spud Williams alias C. A. White Jim Haskell and Wm Walters as attackers. They were arrested and taken to Greeley. Johnson, a 60 year old Finnish immigrant with a nearby Pierce homestead, was left unconscious with a crushed face and head wound.
