United Way Drive Supports Weld Information and Referral Service
The United Way funded Weld Information and Referral Service WIRS mobilizes over 50 volunteers with help from local churches businesses and civic groups to aid people in need. WIRS at 01 A St operates weekdays with after hours phone answering. Millie Stoffler leads WIRS a nonprofit formed five years ago to fill gaps between government and social services serving more than 5000 families in Weld County. WIRS relies on donations and church and civic support and coordinates referrals with other agencies across the Western Slope.

Kodak Reports Higher Sales and Earnings
Eastman Kodak reports higher sales and net earnings for the 1922 third quarter and the first three quarters of the year. Worldwide quarter sales rose 16 percent to 5,081,000 with net earnings of 152,597,000, or 95 cents per share. UNC Briefs 12 Attend Symposium at Joslyn Museum
Twelve students and faculty from the University of Northern Colorado attended a day-long symposium at Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha on Oct. 11. The event, titled New Concepts in Sculpture, complemented three exhibitions running through Oct. 22: Alexander Calder tribute prints by five American sculptors and New Concepts in Sculpture.
