Kersey October 9. David Thornley a young man who ate arsenic tainted cake on July 31 has partial paralysis and is back in Nebraska with serious symptoms according to doctors. Miss Lizzie Siegel and Andrew Loloff recovered fully. the cake was baked at the L. C. Lolof ranch by Siegel who came from Chicago unaware the baking powder jar held arsenic.

Normal trustees discuss new training school plans
State trustees of the Normal held the first meeting of the school year to review Barber’s proposed training school building in Colorado Springs. Changes to the plans were noted and a special meeting for plan acceptance was expected next month. Foundation contracts may be let before plan approval to save time. 2000 Railroad Ties Spark Damages Suit
The Warren Live Stock company sues D. Mantey for 300 dollars claiming he stole 2000 old railroad ties from the Union Pacific line between Carr and Cheyenne. The ties, purchased by the company on July 29, 1909, allegedly were torn up to fuel and build sheep pens, a claim described as one of the court’s most unusual cases.
