The case of William J. McGregor accused of killing Frank Tuck on July 28 goes to the jury after final arguments and a full day of testimony. McGregor claims the shooting was accidental as he slipped and fired while trying to save himself, while prosecutors say he fired deliberately to frighten the fugitive.
W J McGregor testified that he tripped on weeds while pursuing a street disturbance and unintentionally discharged his revolver. He said he did not intend to shoot at Tuck or the airborne shot to frighten the fugitive, and he aided the wounded man until help arrived.
The Northern Colorado Power Company reports rapid expansion in Weld county areas, with a projected 1910 surplus of 100000 and growing earnings. Growth includes 25 new towns in Crow Creek and Pleasant Valley, improved water access, and plans to acquire plants and labor in Denver. Mr and Mrs D BR Carpenter will spend Thanksgiving in Fort Collins.
Weld Land argues the country is as favored as the western sphere for fruit production. The statement frames national agricultural potential and regional comparison without detailing policy or supporting data.

Senator Guggenheim plans a fifty thousand dollar gift for a new building on the State Normal campus in Greeley. Architects met with President Z X Snyder to discuss plans and the purpose of the structure. The Camfield Trust building is noted as the site under consideration for Knights of Pythias club rooms.
Miss Effie Chappelow and Albert O. Huffsmith wed at 6 oclock with 120 friends in attendance. Rev. D. D. Forward officiated in a pink and white setting at the Chappelow home 603 Eighth avenue. The ceremony, reception, and formal dinner followed, with attire and arrangements reflecting Greeley society prominence. The couple will reside at 916 Fifth street in a home prepared for occupancy.
Special to the Daily Tribune from LaSalle dated November 24 reports D. M. Lewis held a sale of twenty seven horses and mules and twenty sheep at his ranch. He will rent one ranch and part of another next year due to poor health.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and many choirs will join in union services at the Methodist church at 10 40. Rev John Doane will officiate with Prof Fitz directing the music. Dinners are arranged by local families and organizations to aid the poor and ensure no one is forgotten.
Churches families and charitable societies plan extensive Thanksgiving aid with Union Aid distributing food shoes and clothing to a deaf couple and their three children the elderly widow receiving help the Salvation Army aiding grammar students and high schoolers with clothing and food, and Union Thanksgiving services led by Rev Doane at the Methodist church.
For twenty two years families including Mr and Mrs Jesse Gale Dr and Mrs R F Graham Mr and Mrs Do N Jackson and Mrs Flora Gale shared Thanksgiving. This year the meal will be hosted by Mr and Mrs Jackson with fourteen covers. Continued on Page Two.
The Associated Relief Society of Greeley is declared the official city charity umbrella. A committee led by Rev J J Lace and city officials drafted a constitution to unite churches, charities, and individuals, prevent relief overlap, examine applications, and provide visitors and employment while promoting thrift and self reliance.
