Denver Train Crash Fatality Toll Reaches 340

Denver dispatch reports a survivor of a wartime training accident was crushed to death at night beneath a Denver bun. The victim, identified as Robert G. Hardin, a retired army warrant officer, was struck when a vehicle or mechanism failed near a roadside site. The toll rose to 340.

Truman Seeks Rent Control Law At Lame-Duck Session

Chairman Spence of the House Banking Committee said President Truman wants immediate legislation to extend rent control through March 1952 and to enable a broader discussion by the new Congress. Three Honored at Eaton FFA Banquet

Eaton Nov 20 at the First Methodist church dining room 192 attended the Eaton FFA banquet. Three men were named honorary members Hilding Berg Blimey Carlson and Norman Davis of Kansas City Missouri. Davis represents Sears Roebuck Foundation. Guests included Mr and Mrs twin Kallott of Denver and PRA official, Richard Berg introduced them. Rio Grande Official Happy at Ruling on Gateway Case

Bradford, vice president of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, says he is encouraged by Mr. Millen’s recommendation in the Ogden gateway case. He hopes the Interstate Commerce Commission will follow the suggestion, noting the gateway opening would give Utah and Idaho shippers more flexibility. He adds Rio Grande expects smooth cooperation with the Oregon Taiwa Pacific railroad and a division of joint-rate revenues if the gateway is opened.

Deer Hunter's Death Ruled Accidental in Pueblo Area

A coroner's jury ruled Clifford Lewis's hunting death accidental after eight witnesses described an unintended gunfire on Grant Mesa.
