London Nov 20 Twenty six American soldiers died and four were injured when a Skytrain hospital carrier crashed near Brighton in southern England while en route from England to France. Six injured were taken to a nearby hospital as authorities investigated the crash. A separate fire incident followed later near Eighth Street, downtown, starting from a truck loaded with oats. In Washington, Nov 26 the Senate Finance Committee approved Brigadier General Frank T. Hines as administrator of unemployment reemployment for the veteran administration.
