Train Robbery Near Berkeley Reported In November Night
Nov 7 A Southern Pacific passenger train bound for Berkeley was held up and robbed at Nobel, a small town north of Berkeley. Five men in a large sedan with two machine guns rifled the mail and baggage cars. All robbers were armed with automatics. Authorities across the East Bay were notified and roads leading from the area were closed.
