Indicted in inmate death over drugs at state prison
Denver district attorney said two Colorado State Penitentiary inmates were indicted by a state grand jury for the death of a prisoner who died October 17, 1970, from stab wounds during a fight over drugs. The indictments followed a month long probe into drug traffic between Denver sources and the penitentiary inmates.

Court says school didn't violate rights
Durango Colorado court overruled the Colorado Civil Rights Commission in the case of Delos Howell a 17 year old suspended last April from Ignacio High School for wearing long hair. The judge found the school dress and hair code enforcement not discriminatory and that the board’s hair long policy imposes no unreasonable burden. Howell was suspended April 4 and reinstated ten days later after the commission ruled for him. The board appealed and Bradford upheld the board’s position.
