Ault resident dies in a crash involving a car and truck. Reports say the accident occurred Saturday night or early Sunday, with investigations continuing.
Denver pilot Roy W. Lawson, owner of a Swift two place plane, was killed in a crash northeast of Fort Lupton while flying solo from Greeley Weld County Airport to Slip Ranch near Denver. The crash was not found until Sunday morning due to Lawson not filing a flight plan. Civil Air Patrol learned of his disappearance Saturday night, delaying search until Sunday. Lawson had just completed a regular 100 hour inspection and left Greeley around noon Saturday.
Voters will cast ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 15 polling places for mayor and city council seats. Incumbent Gordon K. Rissler faces Chester S. Hatch for mayor. Seven candidates vie for three at large council posts, including incumbents Brown and Somerville. Voting machines used for first time in city election.

Moroccan officers report several Algerian battalions driven into the hills by a counterattack as both sides blame each other for the breach of the Bamako cease-fire. The oasis, near the frontier, saw heavy shelling and a disrupted telephone link, with a tenuous highway holding between the oasis and Bou Aria. The cease-fire deadline looms as minelaying squads operate north and south of Figuig.
Volunteers and Eagle County sheriff officers resumed full scale search for 92 year old Robert J Sankey of Westminster a Denver area lab technician missing for a week His pickup was found on the highway and the hunt paused by a weekend snowstorm before renewed efforts.

Starting Monday 416 envelopes go to 1.6 Greeley families, with repeats for three weeks. Questionnaires cover duration of residence education and family details. Responses expected by next Sunday, with a pilot in which about 90 percent replied. Results will feed a report for local agencies and groups.
