Charles B. Timberlake, long serving Colorado congressman and champion of farmers, dies at 86 in Sterling after a career as U S land office recorder and state legislator. Born Clinton County Ohio September 25, 1854, he homesteaded in northern Colorado and served as county clerk, district recorder, and congressman from 1915 until retirement. He was married three times and survived by his wives, a daughter and two grandkids, with ties to Fort Collins and Palo Alto.

Alfred Riley Dies Friday in Greely Hospital
Alfred Riley, 80, died Friday night at Greely hospital after a period of ill health. Born July 2, 1869 in Bingley England, he came to the United States at 30 and settled in Alliance, Nebraska before moving to Crewsney over 40 years ago. He was a public accountant and served as Weld County auditor for years. Surviving are his widow Sadie Riley and children Stanley Riley, Margaret Delgard, and Curtis Tetley, plus four grandchildren and several relatives in England and Canada.
