Ray Sauter reported that secret committees of a veterans organization investigated alleged German American activity in Sterling and Irving in Nebraska and Sterling in Nebraska. An Army Tank Corps train moved swiftly through Greeley on Thursday afternoon headed west. The train carried about 26 small tanks and troops, hauled by an 800 ton locomotive, described at the time as a CCU movement.
