Colorado hospital cost control bill clears House vote
Denver United Press International reports Colorado lawmakers approved a three member state hospital rate review commission with a 45 to 4 vote. Gov. Richard Lamm endorsed the bill noting costs exceed 2 billion annually. the measure now heads to the Senate for consideration.

Denver auditor denies kickback charges by critics

Child abuse approval delayed by Senate
In Denver the Colorado Senate delayed final passage of a bill to open certain child protection team meetings to the public. The measure, already approved by the House, would require discussions of child abuse cases in open sessions without identifying involved persons. Senate sponsor Sen Ted Strickland asked for reconsideration and the bill was laid over until Tuesday for an amendment.
