Alms Winter Enrollment Tops 1602 at College
A total of 1,602 persons are enrolled at Alms College spring quarter per Registrar Jerry McMurry. Fall enrollment ranked fourth among Colorado two year colleges, with Me College, Grand Junction, Denver Community College, and Northeastern Junior College higher in headcount. Full time students number 659 of the total, with 94 part time. 36 nonresidents. Total credit hours amount to 13,833 this quarter, up from 6,763 last year’s spring quarter. Summer session planned, with 452 full-time equivalents this year including the summer term.

Drug Effects Program Set For May 13
A drug education program for parents and school-age children is planned for 8 p.m. on Tuesday May 13 in Heath Junior High School auditorium. A film Drugs and the Nervous System will be shown. Lt Francis Albert of the Greeley Police Department will present drug education materials and local doctors will act as resource readers for follow up small discussion groups. The program follows a series of Heath student assemblies where the film was shown and questions were invited. Heath Principal Walter Poirier and school nurse Mrs Clara Wood organized the event due to strong student interest.

William H. Brown Jr., a 41 year old Philadelphia lawyer, is sworn in as a member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and named by President Nixon as chairman. He succeeds Clifford L. Alexander Jr., who resigned after Sen. Dirksen criticized him for harassing businessmen over racial discrimination.
