Henry L. Bilmain, secretary of war, told Americans Tuesday to prepare a naval convoy for delivery of supplies to Great Britain. He argued that a strong navy would secure the seas and support Allied defense, supplementing British efforts to protect oceans worldwide.

John S. Davis, prominent banker and civic figure in Greeley, dies Tuesday afternoon after a six week illness. Born in 1871 in Wales, he immigrated to Colorado with his family, graduated from Grady Medical School in 1854, and served as vice president and cashier of the First National Bank for over 42 years. He held posts on the city council, Rotary club, various medical and financial associations, and was active in Park Congregational church. Survived by wife I. Hlanchs Trutetigan of Denver, two daughters Blanche West and Dorothy Davis Smith, and several grandchildren and siblings. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
Willam Keltietom a resident farmer from the Ratan community passed away at noon Wednesday at Greeley Hospital after a recent heart ailment. He is survived by his wife Mrs Minnie Nettleton and daughter Mrs Guasle Whitcomb a teacher in Eaton Schools.
More than 600 members are due for the Colorado department convention of the Disabled American Veterans and World War Auxiliary. Convention headquarters will be at the Camfield hotel with events starting Thursday afternoon. Local committee members and officers from Aurora and Greeley will host as department leaders attend the four day gathering.
