The Sterling theater launches a Spring Jubilee to celebrate the new season with a line of films. Manager Harry Ashton presents Norma Shearer in Young Playhouse with Conrad Nagel, Chester Morris, Ravert Montgomery along with other features across three weeks starting May 6.
Rex Marletane presents a musical extravaganza titled Lets Go Places. Joseph Wagataft stars as the tenor with Lolo Lame as the filmator in a tale of romantic intrigue. Frank Richardson Turnishes leads the comedic moments as manager. Cast includes Walter Catlett Sharon Lynn Dixie Lee Charles Judels Wia Chase and Larry Steer. Frank Btrayer directs from an original story and dialog by William K Wolla with songs by multiple writing teams.
Frank Corzage directs a Rex theater presentation titled The River a Movietone talking picture featuring Charles Farrell Mary Duncan Margaret Mann and Yvan Lnow scenes unfold as a modern Pilgrim's Progress tale about a young man from the backwoods building a river boat to explore the world screenplay by Teltram Tupper with dialogue by John Hunter Booth A H Van Buren staged the articulate portions and A F Erickson involvement noted.
The Texan at Sterling feature stars Gary Cooper in a hard riding, loyal cowboy role set in the pampas of South America, opposite Fay Wray as Consuela. John Cromwell directs this adaptation from O Henry’s A Double Dyed De catayer, following Cooper’s acclaimed The Virginian. The film opens Thursday through Saturday, with a student program of health and awards featured beforehand.
May 5 Big Bend school held an assembly stressing health education. Miss Daisy Farrow, nurse at Teachers College, addressed students on essentials for good health. Posture and illustrations of good alignment were emphasized.
Island Grove Park is described as a thriving community hub with playgrounds chutes swings and mechanical devices. The park hosts daily activities including softball practice and horse training on a year round track. Notable horsemen Andy Campbell Eliot MeCarthy and trainer Ray Mike Shelton oversee prize winners and daily workouts with multiple named horses and jockeys.
Island Grove Park in Colorado hosts fairs rodeos and carnivals with a half mile dirt track record set there. Plans call for grooming ahead of Greeley’s Eighth annual Spud Hod eo drawing about 25 000 people on July 3 and 4. The Severance Spots pig and corn clubs met at Bruce Whitmore’s with most members present.
The discussion and planning of the project occurred with Mr Stratton and county club members reviewing work and parts of the pig vaccination plan.
