Heavy rain and hail damaged lanes along Lane Tree Creek and near Ault, with up to six inches of hail reported in Ault and drifts to three feet. Evacuations affected four to five families and crop fears rose especially for sugar beets and onions. Roads and bridges damaged, a tornado spotted west of Greeley caused no reported damage. Local officials assessed widespread flooding and road closures as crews prepared repair plans.

Colorado officers raid north Weld cock fight scene
Weld County officers with Ault and Piercy police raided a north Weld farm building early Sunday and found what authorities call the largest cock fight in the region. About 176 live roosters in cages and 14 dead birds were seized along with betting slips, scales, and fighting pens. Seventeen out of state residents from Kansas Nebraska and Wyoming were arrested and released on 250 dollar bonds. Colorado residents were photographed and released pending summonses for gambling and killing animals in contest. Weather: clear to partly cloudy with possible afternoon storms in northern Colorado. Temperature 65 degrees.
