Two young men identified as participants in a string of Denver stickups were captured after a tourist’s alert noticing a suspicious pair. Mika Stasevich, a employee of a South Denver drug store, was formerly with Garrett's Drug in Greeley. He was held up during the Denver robbery at 295 South Downing, where Milton Conde and Frits Decker obtained about 175 dollars. Stasevich had worked in Greeley about two years and was known as Mike Grandleh.
State funds totaling 23065 dollars, the county share of the income tax school fund for the first half of the year, have been received by W. S. Hunt, county superintendent, and will be distributed to the county school districts.

Mrs. Roberts of Cheyenne Wyoming received a letter from her son Jain Wilson, who she feared might be dead after a skull was found east of Wellington. The letter, received Tuesday morning, confirms he is alive and not in Denver as previously thought. Mrs. Roberts last heard from him August 14, 1919, amid fears of foul play or amnesia.
Entomologist Bantels of Colorado State College notes tick populations will rise from now through mid June with a May peak and July decline. Ticks feed on rodents and can carry Colorado fever. reports of spotted fever are rare but possible. Mountain travelers are urged to check for ticks after exposure in the canons and avoid skin contact.
Gilcrest and Evans phone users will switch to dial type service on May 17 for 137 lines across the Evans and Gilcrest exchanges. Floyd Wilson, Greeley area manager, announced the installation is underway with crews preparing the dial panel and aerial changeover forthcoming.
