Protection of Soil from Wind Planned in Colorado

Fort Collins March 24 Many Colorado farmers plan to prevent loss of rich topsoil by planting windbreaks of trees or shelter belts in spring or fall. High winds have caused damage to farms in eastern Colorado this winter. Windbreaks at quarter mile intervals are suggested to protect buildings crops and livestock from cross winds, with trees planted two rows and intervals to block gusts.
