City council approves salary rise and public works plan
The council enacted a salary ordinance raising city pay about fifty percent for most offices and created a sinking fund from water revenues. Man in precarious condition after river ditch collapse

Northern Colorado Power Plant Hit By Storm Blackout
A lightning strike two miles from Berthoud crippled the Lafayette Northern Colorado Electric Light Plant, leaving the northern part of the state in darkness all night. Heavy rain then snow collapsed wires and knocked out telephone lines and coal wires, with two inches of precipitation and 28 above zero overnight. Repair crews work as ground moisture delays plowing and weather reports are unavailable.
