Senate approves reorganization after killing amendment

The Senate approved a government reorganization after defeating an amendment to limit presidential powers. The vote was 68 to 23 in favor. A joint conference committee resolved differences with separate motions passed by both chambers. The amendment, proposed by Senator Wheeler of Montana, would have required Congress to approve before any reorganization could take effect, but was struck down.

New Civil Service Investigation Brought by Colorado Legislators

Girl Catches Leg In Water Curb Box

Four year old Shirley Mae White of Eaton became wedged in a water curb box near 1761 Eighth Street when the top pipe cover came off. Police fire and water departments extricated her by unscrewing a pipe section and turning her around. The girl was injured. she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. White of Denton.
