Man Hurls Self to Death Near Gilcrest Train

William Andre of Denver killed himself by leaping from a moving passenger train near Gilcrest while en route from Cheyenne to Denver. The incident followed ten days of divorce and family strife. Coroner Macy and Deputy Sheriff Charles Peterson investigated and the body went to Weld County morgue.

German immigrant Andre dies in Denver bound train tragedy

Coroner to inspect Catherine Andre at Denver after her divorce for cruelty leads to suspect. An German man, Andre, involved in domestic trouble allegedly caused the self destruction on a San Francisco to Denver ticket while en route near Gilcrest. No suicide note found. no inquest planned.

Aged Men Hurled From Buggy After Collision

Two 72 year old men George Fisk and A A Townsend were thrown from their buggy when a car driven by Harry Wryatt struck from behind at Mumper's hill. They were dragged under the buggy in water, then rescued and taken home drenched. the buggy owned by Dr B Woodcock was nearly demolished. Police investigated the cause amid a crowded carriage street.

Upset Boat and Runaway Leads to Fines and Jail

Thomas Patterson and companions went fishing and caused a boat upset then a runaway. Patterson paid 13.60 to the city treasury and Perry Murray 12.60 as penalties. Both stayed in jail overnight after Marshal Williams assisted with transport to the station.

Greeley’s business college baseball team beat the Evans town team 7 to 4 last Saturday afternoon. Early-season tags marked the game while both squads aim for the county championship. Glouce and Bailey delivered strong battery work for the college. next Saturday they travel to Ault to face the Ault Regulars.
