Wilkinson Heads People's Ticket in City Election

L Wilkinson heads the Peoples party bid for mayor in the April city election announced by chairman Carl Saoborn. Jacy Wilkinson leads the ticket as mayoral candidate with incumbents retained except P Hering, who will replace Vandernoof. A meeting was set Friday afternoon to organize campaign. Moffet predicts many independent candidates and petitions on the ballot.

Denver March 7 United States district judge proposed that the Moffat railroad be joined with the Denver and Rio Grande Western and operated as an independent unit so no single carrier would gain stock control The judge rejected a reconstruction plan from the Interstate Commerce Commission and substituted his own for consideration The D and A and W are operated by appointed trustees under federal reorganization law

Four Louisiana convicts executed after last‑minute hearing

Four men William Meluirs Floyd Hoyee William Hard and William Landers were hanged in Louisiana for the slaying of Columbia posseman Frank Gartman. March 7 Washington The Senate voted 31 to 65 against Taft's amendment to restrict U S forces outside the western hemisphere and block convoying of war materials. O Mahoney and Johnson proposals were rejected as administration lines held firm. Johnson Wheeler and others opposed, while O Mahoney along with Adams Johnson of Colorado and Wheeler supported the amendment. Several opponents including Murray Schwartz Ware and Cinger voted no.
