The Senate lobby committee heard testimony on Grundy tariff efforts with editor Doane of the American Tariff League denying relocation of headquarters to Grundy’s offices. More Lambs Are on Feed Than in 1928

Denver reports March 1 feed totals show 3,640,000 lambs in the Northern Colorado Arkansas Valley and Scettabluti regions, far above last year and a decade ago. Northern Colorado lists 1,045,000 lambs in feed, up from 790,000 a year ago. Arkansas Valley has 340,000 lambs, vs 245,000 last year. January movement remains light. deaths noted in the report.

Parole Granted for Dr. Frederick Cook in Leavenworth Case

The parole of Dr. Frederick A. Cook, serving a term in the Leavenworth federal penitentiary for using the mail to defraud, has been approved by Attorney General Mitchell. The Justice Department announced the action, noting the exact parole date would be set by the penitentiary warden, but it was believed to be effective tomorrow.

Briggsdale members held a Wednesday afternoon gathering at Mrs. Charles Cass residence with Mrs A C Thomas assisting. Indian Woman Blames Rival for Noted Artist Slaying

Buffalo artist and curator Mrs. Wenri Marchand was beaten to death in her home. Police arrest Lilian Jimerson, 36, a Mull blood Indian, who says she was pregnant and accuses an elder tribal woman. The accused woman remains unnamed as investigations continue. Marchand’s 12-year-old son found her body after a brutal attack. The case centers on tribal tensions and alleged infatuation with the artist.

Washington March 7 Chairman Legge of the farm board told the Senate agriculture committee that price declines may have ended and improvement ahead. French Refugees Return to Their Ruined Homes

French refugees trailed back to Tarn and Garonne river valleys to begin rebuilding shops and homes. Many saved mud and rubble, with neighbors offering shelter where possible. As waters receded, the tragedy grew clearer with 201 known dead and estimates that twice that number may have perished. Rebuilding work began as mailway track crews rushed to restore service.
