The City Planning Commission recommends denial of a rezoning from R-1 to R-3 for a 120 bed nursing home at 16th Street and 20th Avenue Place, citing residential area impact. It also votes to rezone an island land patch to RA, considers vacation of an alley near the Holiday Inn, and supports annexing the south half of the U.S. 34 by-pass from 17th to 16th Avenue for police jurisdiction. A second rezoning request on a corner lot is tabled, while a letter to Weld County Planning opposes a 25-acre J B Estates addition. The panel approves a new middle size city zoning map and plans subdivision regulations.

The decision rests with stockholders amid ongoing negotiations while noting bank assets of about 0.68 billion as of 1972 year end.
District Six administrators teachers and principals present a 20 year long range plan aiming to meet district needs. The document groups missions goals and philosophy and calls for four bond issues starting December 1973 to fund K 12 schools and housing for grades configuration with potential $2 million savings over two decades.
Denver AP reports Great Western United Corp and the Great Western Producers Cooperative extended the cooperative's purchase deadline for Great Western Sugar Co. to March 41. Neither side expected meeting the date. a further extension may be considered. Delays stem from financing arrangements to buy the subsidiary.
Dr William Bauer, longtime Greeley Clinic physician, leaves August 1950 to head the new Office of Professional Standards Review Organization under HEW in Washington DC. He will divide the nation into districts, set uniform Medicare and Medicaid care standards, and report to Dr Charles Edwards. Bauer, noted for medical society leadership in Colorado, previously served as Weld County Medical Society president. He studied at the University of Michigan Medical School and spent time with the hospital ship Hope in Brazil last summer.
