Ancient Sea Scouts Highball wins second at Keokuk Regatta

The Greeley Sea Scouts sent the Highball to the Keokuk Regatta, finishing second in the free-for-all race and earning a silver boat trophy for the crew. The delegation of 12 left Greeley June 18 and returned Sunday with several honors, while boats including the Highball and others competed in multiple events and four members earned praise for sailing skill.

Black Legion Blamed for Brutal Killing

Alleged shoplifter Martin Carney held at jetty jail

Martin Carney alias Frank Welch, tied to shoplifting cases at LaSalle and Greeley, was arrested Saturday after a pursuit at Fourth Street and Eighth Avenue. Johnstown Man Falls from Fifty Foot Tank

June 29. G W Rowden, owner and operator of the Conaga Serving station at Johnstown, fell from a fifty foot tank. Found unconscious by workers at the filling station, he was taken home. A physician could not determine the full extent of his injuries immediately. Bones broken, he was badly bruised and shaken.

Brannaman Named Head of State at Colorado Springs Convention

W. F. W. Brannaman elected state commander of the Colorado Vale of Foreign Ware at the largest convention in Colorado Springs. 29 Per cent Increase in Pig Crop Likely

Mrs. J. D. Potter reported a purse theft at 1303 Fifteenth Street after leaving the Greeley post office Sunday evening. The purse contained $12 and receipts. witnesses saw a man described as a tall figure run away with it while police conducted a search of the area.

J Y Kaveh of Denver became owner of Weld County’s Patterson well and equipment after bidding at the Platte Valley Petroleum case. A district court judgment against Platte Valley Petroleum for 1 881.54 financed unpaid drilling work.
