Public Service Expands Substation In Greeley Area
Public Service officials say a 0.5 million dollar expansion of the Greeley substation at Twenty third Avenue and Tenth Street will boost capacity from 46 600 to 73 300 kilowatts. The project adds a 33 000 kilovolt transformer weighing 181 500 pounds, two 115 000 volt oil circuit breakers, five 44 000 watt breakers, new cable ducts, and a 20 by 25 foot addition to the control building. Work began a month ago under Y R Gilliland with R G Bill Ewart in charge, linking the area’s power systems with the Bureau of Reclamation.

Weiss Named New Pastor at First Methodist Here Sunday
Dr. Henry L. Weiss, succeeding Rev. Bruce McDivitt as Denver district superintendent, will preach at 9:50 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday. A veteran Methodist pastor with 38 years in the pulpit, Weiss has led church extension efforts, organized seven new churches, and helped acquire ten sites and eight buildings. He has served in Fort Collins Waterloo and Fargo and is active on national Methodist committees. He and Mrs. Weiss have three children, and he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from the University of Denver.
