A Friday night fire destroyed the Sunset Pavilion and sale yard on First Avenue near Seventeenth Street, with losses estimated around $22,000. The blaze halted a large turntable of equipment, crates, and two semitrailers, while 8,000 spectators watched and 1,000 more inspected the wreckage Saturday morning.
