McCall Sentenced to Die in Florida Kidnapping Case

McCall 21 was sentenced Thursday to die by electric chair for kidnapping Jimmy Cash Jr. in Princeton, Florida. Judge Arlington declared the offense capital, Th e defendant offered no additional remarks, claiming guilt as charged. The court noted the governor will set the execution date at Balford State Prison.

Mrs Fountain Dies Thursday in Greeley Hospital

Mrs Ada Fountain Butter of Fouriaky 42 died Thursday at Greeley hospital from pneumonia and post operative complications. A Greeley native, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Maria H L Bunker, she taught in public schools and served as a society editor. Survived by husband, daughter Mary Jane 6, sister Miriam Hoover, and Jerome Banker. Funeral at Macy's Saturday at 2 00 with private interment.

Six Japanese Bombers Shot Down Over Canton

Canton China June 11 Japanese bomber squadron attacked the Carlton area but six planes were shot down. Chinese forces claim effective air defense repelled the assault near Canton and reported additional Japanese aircraft engaged north of the city at Lokelonghsien. Miner fatally hurt in slide near Lafayette

A miner named Lafayettte, 40, Dan Hotaow of Tonisville were injured in a rock slide at the Columbine mine east of Lafayette. Hodson suffered a crushed chest and possible broken back. The mine is operated by Rocky Mountain Wool Company and Hodson died, survived by a widow and two children.
