Road Budget To Be Made at Early Date

Governor Ed C. Johnson announced steps to launch a seven and one half million dollar highway and work relief program in Colorado by July 4 under the new federal act. The highway advisory board will be recalled to budget road projects for the year, with four million dollars already slated and an additional three and one half million to outline. Federal funds assistance is being sought via tax collections to match the act, while the state must pay contractors up front and later be reimbursed by the federal government. The state reports two million dollars already in project hands awaiting approval and about ten million more ready for funding.
