An air force sergeant and a man posing as his wife were charged with federal fraud for cashing about $2,000 in dependent allotments. George Sanchez, alias George Keahola, 22, and Staff Sgt. Donald Carpenter, 27, allegedly posed as Mrs Carpenter, forged a marriage liaison in 1948, and split the proceeds. They faked a spouse to obtain monthly checks of $127.50. Sanchez confessed to posing as Mrs Carpenter and cashing multiple checks. The two face charges of obtaining dependency allotments and conspiracy before U.S. Commissioner Joseph Neft.
