Officer punishes horse abuser in city incident
Officer Ransom from Denver investigated a lightly trained colt beaten by a young man in Greeley. After confrontation, he threatened arrest, and the next day in police court Judge Stapleton fined the man 20 dollars and delivered a stern rebuke worth about 50 dollars in implied penalties.

Return of Stolen Horse Brings Relief to Greeley Area
William Jones residing nine miles west of Greeley rejoices as his valuable horse is recovered after a three week theft. The sheriff and Jones had pursued leads but could not prove the suspects. Proximity to the home led to the horse being returned to avoid arrest.

New dump moved for depot at Severance by Great Western
The Severance beet dump is being torn down and rebuilt on the opposite side of the tracks to clear space for a new depot. The depot, erected by Great Western, will cost about $2,000 and occupy the site of the old dump.

Nineteenth Graduation at Colorado State Normal School
The nineteenth annual commencement of the Colorado State Normal school is set for the week starting June 6 in Greeley. Highlights include a 2:30 p.m. baccalaureate by Rev. W. A. Philips, senior fete, Milton festival, alumni meeting, a band concert, and the play As You Like It. Dr. A. E. Winship delivers the commencement address followed by a reception. The class size reaches 1,550 graduates, with new facilities valued at about $100,000 to enhance teacher training and science and arts labs. The summer term begins June 22 with projected enrollment of 600, and trips to the N E A in Denver are planned.

Severance Receives Mail Earlier from Eaton Route
Since the first of the month Severance has been getting its mail from Eaton rather than Windsor, bringing Denver papers to Severance about a day ahead of the Windsor system. Eaton’s mail man waits for Union Pacific trains. Windsor’s leaves before Colorado Southern arrives moraings papers. The Eaton route now serving Severance is Route No. 2.
